Ephedra's main ingredient which is ephedrine is actually an extract from the plant that can be found in China, Indonesia and Malaysia. The plant has been used by people from those countries for treatment of asthma and hay fever. The latest use of Ephedra is for weight loss and has proven to be fatal.
