After Pregnancy Weight Loss

Shaping your body back to the way it was before pregnancy can take a bit more of time than expected. Although you’re body will never be the same as it was before, you can still get your slim figure back. Others have gotten rid of excess weight much too soon, like the celebrity moms. These moms have opted for surgery or have highly paid fitness instructors to train them. So don’t worry if it’ll take you longer to lose some weight.

Can I start losing weight after giving birth?

Remember that it took you nine months to gain all that excess weight, so don’t expect to lose it in a week. Since your body is still recovering from the stressful experience that you’ve undergone, three months after giving birth or more is the best time to engage in after pregnancy weight loss. But see to it that you have fully recovered or have the strength to take on such activities. It’s always good to consult your doctor before starting your post pregnancy workout.

If your unsure how to lose pregnancy weight, here are some tips that you can start with:

Walking.Take a thirty minute walk then increase gradually to an hour a day. Start slowly, no brisk walking yet. Enjoy the smell of fresh air. Better yet take the whole family with you. You can always have enjoyable time strolling with your baby.

Go swimming. Swimming is great for after pregnancy weight loss since it tones your whole body without straining it.

Do some yoga. Burn more calories with yoga without the strain. You can do it at home or go to a yoga class. It offers more than just weight loss. Yoga benefits include flexibility, endurance, balance, strength and toning.

Breastfeed your baby. Breastfeeding your baby makes you lose weight since it uses 500 extra calories per day.

Eat a healthy diet. Eat a balanced meal of vegetables, fruits, and fish. The best way to go is eating in small portions. Refrain from eating refined foods and fast food.
